'Zanu-PF govt will always carry a radioactive cloud of scandal'

Studio 7 reporter based in Washington DC, United States, Blessing Zulu who visited Zimbabwe during the festive season has said the Zanu-PF government will always carry a radioactive cloud of scandal.

He said for 37 years President Emmerson Mnangagwa worked alongside Robert Mugabe doubling as a "trusted son" and henchman.

"I visited Zimbabwe recently and it is not the same country anymore. No cash in banks, skyrocketing food prices, unemployment and water shortages. Contrast that with politicians in designer suits and expensive cars. What Zimbabwe needs is a return to democratic rule not the Bigmanism that some people want us to return to by peddling this nonsense about "Give him time". NO, IT IS OUR TIME, WE THE PEOPLE," he said.

"Our people have suffered long enough from misrule and for anyone who thinks Mugabe alone ruined the country, well I have a bridge and lake to sell you. Dealing with corruption must not be a factional fight as we are sadly witnessing. We have past atrocities that have to be investigated. We demand a clear road map to elections to avoid military coups. If these fundamental issues are not addressed, Mnangagwa risks becoming Mugabe on steroids. Zimbabwe ever a believer in the axiom "over promise and under deliver"? If we do not demand change politicians will be glad to milk the clock while we suffer."

He said reforms must be done as of yesterday.

"To quote Dr King: "We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there "is" such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action," said Zulu.
