Trauma Care Counsellors Deployed in Chimanimani


Government says Cyclone Idai relief efforts are bearing fruit with over 1 600 displaced people having been provided with shelter and receiving assistance at various holding centres in Chimanimani and Chipinge.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Cde Monica Mutsvangwa after the cabinet meeting held in Harare today.

Minister Mutsvangwa said more than 46 000 people comprising special groups namely children, the elderly and the disabled have so far been given relief assistance.

She added that 66 out of the targeted 236 volunteer counsellors on trauma care have gone through training and have been deployed to severely affected wards in Chimanimani.

Minister Mutsvangwa said significant quantities of building materials have already been moved to strategic sites with ablution facilities having been completed at nine schools.
